Patricia Fridley is a senior executive with extensive experience in building investment businesses and leading teams of asset managers that achieved long term sustainable performance. Ms. Fridley has over 30 years of experience of Investment Management in areas ranging from public and private securities in both fixed income and equity.
Patricia Fridley was most recently at Allstate Insurance Companies as a Senior Managing Director in Investments until she retired in 2009. At Allstate, she held a variety of leadership roles. Most recently, she created and led Allstate’s Portfolio Management Group as well as developed Allstate’s international investing strategy. The Portfolio Management Group was responsible for tactical asset allocation decisions and the International activities - which spanned growing Allstate’s offshore activities as well as driving greater allocation to foreign markets across all the Allstate portfolios. Ms. Fridley also grew Allstate’s Private Placement Group, revamped the Company’s Derivative Group, Commercial Mortgage Loan Group and Mortgage Backed/Asset Backed Areas, built Allstate’s CLO business, and created the strategy for investing in Private Equity and Hedge Funds.
Prior to Allstate, Ms. Fridley was at Nationwide Insurance Companies where she held a variety of leadership positions primarily in fixed income securities. Her last position at Nationwide was serving as Head of Private Asset Portfolios.
Ms. Fridley’s career has spanned the full range of investment activities on both a micro and macro basis. She has built portfolios and teams in individual asset classes and been directly responsible for all aspects of portfolio performance including acquisition, disposition, portfolio protection, and workout activities. On the macro side, she has significant leadership experience around strategic asset allocation, risk allocation, asset liability management, portfolio derivative usage, portfolio performance measurement and incentives, and governance. She is most proud of the leadership talent and teams she has developed over the years.
Ms. Fridley served on a number of industry insurance committees including the American Council of Life Insurers' (ACLI) Senior Investment Life Officers Investment Committee for over 10 years. Ms. Fridley also served as a member and ultimately Chair of the LOMA Investment Committee.
Ms. Fridley earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Business Administration from Muskingum University and a Master of Business Administration from Ohio State University. Ms. Fridley is on the Board of Trustees of Muskingum University and sits on both the Endowment Committee and Campus Life Committee. She is also on the Board of Advisors of the Posse Foundation in Chicago. |
